Activation Guide

Every KEYTIVO delivery email includes instructions for your exact product. This guide covers the general process and the most common questions.

Activating Windows

  1. Open Settings → System → Activation.
  2. Click Change product key.
  3. Enter the 25-character key from your delivery email exactly as written.
  4. Windows contacts Microsoft servers and activates automatically. An internet connection is required.

Installing fresh? Download official installation media from Microsoft, skip the key during setup, then enter your key at Settings → Activation after first boot.

Activating Office

  1. Download the official installer using the link in your delivery email.
  2. Run setup and open any Office app (e.g. Word).
  3. When prompted, choose Enter a product key and type the key from your email.
  4. Follow the prompts — activation completes online in seconds.

Activating Windows Server & SQL Server

  1. Download the official ISO via the link in your delivery email.
  2. Install normally, or open an existing installation.
  3. Enter your key in Server Manager, or run slmgr /ipk YOUR-KEY followed by slmgr /ato in an elevated prompt.

Common issues

“This key didn’t work” (error 0xC004C003 or similar)

Double-check for typos — the characters 0/O and 8/B are easy to confuse. Copy and paste directly from your email where possible. Still failing? Contact support with the exact error code; we verify and replace keys free within 24 hours.

“This key is for a different edition”

Ensure your installed edition matches the key (e.g. Windows 11 Pro key requires Windows 11 Pro installed). Your product page and delivery email state the edition clearly.

Activation after hardware changes

Significant hardware changes (like a new motherboard) can deactivate Windows. Use the Activation troubleshooter in Settings, or contact us — we will help you re-activate.
